This week has a packed schedule of exciting food events to check out, including a romantic picnic at Langley ranch Sage & Solace, a vodka afternoon on a yacht, and New West car-free day.

Date Night at Sage & Solace Farm

Langley’s Sage & Solace Farm offers charming picnic events throughout the month on the picturesque 20-acre property. On Saturday, August 6, you can participate in the Date Night on a Flower Farm event amid its historic flower varieties. The evening includes a gourmet 3-course picnic for two prepared by Salt & Thyme Chef Adrian Beaty, as well as a glass of wine per person. At the end of the evening you will also receive a specially designed bouquet of organic flowers – the perfect ending to a romantic date night.

The journey

Gray Goose Vodka is doing it again with the hype summer events. This time, the brand is launching an exclusive yachting experience in Vancouver, complete with three ‘mixology sessions’.

Le Voyage aims to bring the vibes of the French Riviera to Vancouver. People can book one of three daily departures from August 3-7 and hop aboard the custom Gray Goose Vodka yacht for an unforgettable ride. Out on the open water, attendees can enjoy a dedicated onboard expert mixologist who crafts drinks, French-inspired appetizers, a live DJ set, and limited-edition swag.

Botanist and NYC’s SAGA Collaboration Dinner

For just two nights, the team behind NYC’s acclaimed SAGA restaurant (led by award-winning chef James Kent) will join Vancouver’s Botanist for a seven-course meal. In collaboration with Botanist Chef Hector Laguna, the menu will combine SAGA’s global approach with Laguna’s innovative Pacific Northwest cuisine. There will also be a special cocktail menu for the evenings, with a special cocktail-forward experience at the Botanist Bar.

Car-free day New West

Taking place on Columbia Street, between 4th and 8th Street, Car-Free Day brings tons of local vendors, exhibits, interactive elements and, of course, food trucks to the Royal City. The food side of the one-day event is hosted by Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest, featuring a delicious lineup of local dishes.

Potion Putt

Potion Putt/Hidden Vancouver

There is now a wizard miniature golf course open in Vancouver that you should focus on. Potion Putt is only $18 to play, with tasty magic potions and refreshments available. Before 5pm the event is family friendly, after that only adults are allowed.

The Magic Wizard Golf Course is located at the Vancouver Alpen Club on Victoria Drive and has a total of nine holes of magic. You will encounter “bubbling cauldrons, tasty potions and magical portals” along the way.

Harmony Arts Festival

A 10-day festival kicks off this week on the North Shore that kicks off the arts, food, entertainment and anything easy to celebrate in the summer. The festival consists of two food components: a Best of the West culinary event that combines some of the Lower Mainland’s best restaurants with wineries for a one-night experience only, and the Park Royal Beachside Patio with numerous food trucks.

Friday at the front

Fridays on Front is a huge block party that takes place on Front Street in New Westminster – just off Pier Park – with craft vendors, music performances and, of course, lots of great food. It runs every Friday evening from July 8 to July 22 and then from August 5 to 19, between 5pm and 9pm. Local restaurants will be represented, as well as a rotating roster of local food trucks.

One of Vancouver’s best hidden gem food festivals takes place all summer long and you’ll definitely want to pack your picnic blanket and appetite. You can refuel at your favorite food trucks every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through August 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Shipyards of North Vancouver Live

Shipyard Plaza in North Vancouver turns into a lively, energetic night market every Friday night. The spring and summer series features live music, craft vendors, a splash park for all ages, a beer garden, and of course plenty of food trucks.

Stanley Park Brewing will set up a space called The Patio, a huge beer garden where you can soak up the sun while also enjoying the live performances.

Richmond Night Market 2022

The Richmond Night Market is the largest night market in North America and this year’s theme is Summer Magic Rainbow. The popular annual event draws crowds ready to watch the rows upon rows of vibrant food; there are over 500 different international food items this year.
