2 men shot at Harbor Freeway off-ramp homeless camp

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Two men were gunned down Saturday night at a homeless camp on an exit ramp off the Harbor (110) Freeway in the Vermont Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at about 7:50 p.m. at the Century Boulevard exit west from the 110 Freeway south, according to Lt. P. Shearholdt of the Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Station.

Shearholdt couldn’t confirm reports that one of the men died, but he said one victim was being transported to a hospital for treatment and the suspect was a man.

Because the shooting took place in an encampment on a freeway exit, the California Highway Patrol took over.

A SigAlert was issued to close the exit.

No further information was available, CHP officer Patrick Kimball said.
