1 Go to an outdoor movie

You are spoiled for choice here. Battersea Power Station, Rooftop Cinema Club in Peckham and Stratford all have open air cinemas for the summer, and Hackney Bridge has movies on its new big screen. King’s Cross’ Screen on the Canal will be completed in Coal Drops Yard on Sunday, August 7, so now is a good time to check it out if you haven’t already.

2 CAMRA Great British Beer Festival, Kensington

Sample drinks from more than 500 breweries, as well as ciders, pears, wine, and gin. There will also be music to enjoy and food to feast on. Since the event is organized by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), this is the place to delve into and try out cask ales.

3 Beavertown Brewery’s 10th Anniversary Bash, Tottenham

To mark its 10-year anniversary, the brewery is hosting a birthday party in Tottenham’s taproom. Expect music, food and of course beer, which will flow in ‘unlimited’ quantities. Tickets are £55 a pop and this gives you unlimited drinks, a main course, a goodie bag filled with merch and access to one of two sessions for the day. .

4 Phantom Peak, Surrey Quays

One for the kids or a family day out, this fully realized western town is conveniently located in South London and opens this week. It comes with a gushing waterfall and bars and eateries serving only vegetarian and plant-based dishes, immersive shops, a bowling alley, and a boating lake. Guests are invited to venture on the network of trails to discover the fully immersive world brought to life by actors and elaborate sets. Block an evening, afternoon or morning for this.

5 TriYoga x Darmbbe Charity Workshop, Camden

Triyoga Camden, who champions Dame Deborah James’ legacy of colon cancer education and fundraising for cancer research, will host a “Beautiful Gut – Friendship With Your Guts” workshop, with proceeds going to Deborah’s charity, Bowelbabe. Pass through guided Sanskrit chanting, a digestive-stimulating flow, and finish with a crystal bowl sound healing session. And remember, check your poop!
