Addison Rae divides the internet with ‘disrespectful’ bikini photo

TikTok star and Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s bestie, Addison Rae, split fans after sharing a photo of himself wearing a “disrespectful” bikini online — prompting many to comment on the garment’s religious “theme”. The message has since been deleted.

The bikini in question is by Praying by Adidas and has the word ‘father’ on one cup, ‘son’ on the other and the words ‘holy spirit’ on the bottom. However, Addison’s post only showed the bikini top. The bikini product description on the Praying website says, “Incredible Faith Powerful Healing. Triangle Tie Lace. Peace be upon you and upon your spirit.”

Under the now-deleted Instagram post, one user commented “No, this is disrespectful to Jesus. Sad what you all do for money” while tweeting another wrote“You’re not really going to sell a Father, Son, Holy Ghost bikini, are you? Super disrespectful! Hopefully the @whoisaddison bikini was a joke…not a product line. If it’s real, you’ve lost a consumer.”

Another Twitter user added“if Addison Rae mocked another religion, it would be trending and canceled. But since Christianity is…”, while a fourth noticed“Not that @adidas and Addison Rae are blatantly mocking Christianity.”

At the time of writing, Addison had not commented on the garment or apologized after the post was deleted. Adidas also doesn’t appear to have publicly commented on the turmoil the range has caused.

Others also took to social media to say they had no problem with the garment in question, with one proverb“I’m literally Christian and I think this is so cute”.

Just another shared the photo and added a series of heart-eye emojis, “OH MY GOD #addisonrae 😍 😍 😍”.

After removing the bikini image, Addison resumed posting about her new line of dolls launched at Walmart.

Cosmopolitan UK has reached out to both Adidas and Addison Rae for comment and will update this piece if there is a response.
