‘Andor’ Trailer Reveals Star Wars Show Delay & Three Episode Premiere

The desire to plug every opening in the Star Wars timeline continues unabated with Andor, the upcoming show is streamed Disney Plus. The first three episodes are canceled on September 21 (instead of the previously scheduled Aug 31 date) but you don’t have to wait that long to see it – a new trailer for the show came out Monday.

The trailer references Cassian Andor’s recruitment to the uprising against the totalitarian Galactic Empire. The trailer also teases the Imperial backlash against the growing resistance movement and sees the return of extremist rebel Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker, who previously starred in the film). Created by Tony Gilroy, famous for his work on the Bourne films and Michael Clayton, Andor plays a recurring Diego Luna as Andor five years before the events of the beloved Rogue One. The 2016 Star Wars spin-off, a direct prequel to the original star wars moviegrossed over $1 billion at the box office.

Andor’s 12-episode first season would focus on the formation of the Rebel Alliance. And then we get a second season of 12 episodes that leads straight into Rogue One, Gilroy confirmed during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in May.

Andor comes a few months after the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, that was a real one back to form and relevance for the Star Wars franchise.
