hearing the @TorontoArgos have postponed tomorrow’s scheduled flight to Ottawa for their Friday preseason game against the @REDBLACKS† Team will wait for the @CFLPA to make a decision on the League’s offer. If accepted, Argos will fly to Ottawa Friday race day.

Toronto and Ottawa are scheduled to play the first preseason game since 2019 on Friday at 7:30 PM ET. Winnipeg and Saskatchewan were originally scheduled to open the preseason on Monday, but the game was moved to May 31 after a preliminary collective bargaining agreement was reached last week.

The CFL Players’ Association on Monday voted down the preliminary agreement, identifying changes in the ratio and the lack of a ratification bonus as the top reasons.

The league has since made a new proposal to the players, including a ratification bonus and changes in the ratio. It ends on Thursday at midnight ET.

3DownNation‘s John Hodge reported that the CFLPA manager has yet to present the CFL’s latest proposal to his player representatives, but is expected to do so on Wednesday night.

The other preseason games taking place this weekend include Edmonton in Winnipeg (Friday 8:30 PM ET), BC in Calgary (4:00 PM ET Saturday) and Montreal in Hamilton (7:00 PM ET Saturday). The Blue Bombers and Stampeders released statements Wednesday expressing their optimism that the preseason games will go ahead as planned.
