Viz Media teased the release of the upcoming reboot of the series and shared a new trailer for Bleach: Thousand Years’ Blood War during his panel at Anime Expo this weekend. The trailer offers a first look at the Sternritter, a group of powerful Quincy in the army of the Wandenreich who play a pivotal role in Soul Society’s invasion. Viz also shared key art showing the group tasked with purging the Shinigami and the new Gotei 13 set to take on them.
Bleach creator Tite Kubo also recorded a video message for the panel, telling fans about the contemporary and refreshed look of Bleach: Thousand Years’ Blood War† He adds that he is very involved in all aspects of the adaptation and that some scenes from the manga have been dropped but can be added back if possible.
It is important to note that Bleach: Thousand Years’ Blood War will cover the rest of the original manga until the very end with the last arc.
Bleach: Thousand Years’ Blood War will premiere on TV Tokyo in October with a special advanced showing of the first two episodes in Tokyo September 11.
