Canberra’s dog world comes to Melbourne this week

On tour in honor of their highly anticipated single ‘Flower’, dogworld will headline two shows in Naarm/Melbourne.

With a sound that combines jazz-tinged post-punk with dreampop, dogworld celebrates the release of their latest single ‘flower’. Dogworld has supported countless well-known groups such as Moaning Lisa, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and Hachiku, and is known for their raw, energetic performances. Supporting on their tour of Melbourne are underlay, Squid Inc. and Nonna’s Kitchen, for two shows on August 3 and 4.

Joining both shows on their Melbourne tour is an underlay. Known for a mix of jangly guitars and analog synthesizers, Underlay is the solo project of Newcastle multi-instrumentalist Cody Brougham. He has spent years working behind the scenes as a studio musician for some of Newcastle’s most prominent bands.

Squid Inc. supports dogworld and underlay during their performance on August 3 at The Old Bar. They pose as corporate underwater professionals and are inspired by a wide variety of influences. Known for their fragile lyricism and idiosyncratic stage presence, their sound combines elements of jazz and blues with indie rock.

Nonna’s Kitchen joins dogworld and underlay for their show at The Retreat on August 4. Nonna’s Kitchen interweaves uptempo post-punk with idiosyncratic folk lyrics and is known for their dynamic live performances. With a sold out single release for their latest single ‘Aches and Pains’ in The Tote, they are an up and coming act to watch.
