Jurate Matulioniene, a family friend and president of the Boston Lithuanian community, said: “Lilia was a beautiful angel, she was quiet and loved to dance. The family always came to all our community events and they always stayed late to help clean up.
“I spoke to the mother and asked for her account information because we want to start a fundraiser, but she wouldn’t accept it.”
Photos and videos that Mrs. Savicke posted on social media before her daughter’s death show a cheerful, happy-looking girl who loved to dance, swim, go on boat trips and play with her little sister.
A bouquet of red roses placed at the scene of her murder bore a condolence card that read, “I’m sorry this cruel world gave you life, beautiful girl. May you be in the arms of the angels.”
