GODFREY — Cedarhurst Senior Living is hosting a mid-year mental health check-up with a meaningful conversation about what it means to take care of mental health.

The session will take place on Wednesday, June 1, at 11am at Cedarhurst of Godfrey, 1000 Airport Road.

“During our Mindful Caregiving session in June, you’ll learn to discover ways to improve your mental well-being and emotional health,” said Breanna Wyman, Cedarhurst’s director of sales.

“We will continue to explore ways to improve your quality of life and your ability to cope with the stress associated with providing care.”

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which has been held in the US since 1949. The month is celebrated with media, local events and film screenings. Mental Health Awareness Month was started by the organization Mental Health America.

During the Cedarhurst Senior Living session, Melissa Smith-Wilkinson, founder of Caregiver Wellness Retreat, discusses setting boundaries in care.
