COVID-19 in Quebec: 12 dead, 1 more hospitalization

The Quebec Department of Health reported on Tuesday that 12 more people have died as a result of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, for a total of 15,971 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Hospital admissions are stable at 2,126, up one from the previous day.

59 patients are in the ICU, 29 of whom are due to COVID-19, a decrease of eight compared to the day before.

1,354 new positive PCR tests were also reported, bringing the total to 1,150,154 since the start of the pandemic.

In total there are so far 269,369 rapid tests, of which 225,115 positive. For the day of Monday, 344 tests were reported, of which 282 were positive.

On the health workforce side, 5,186 are absent for COVID-19-related reasons, such as precaution or isolation, 172 more than in the previous update.

The health ministry says 8,995 tests were conducted on Monday, with a positive rate of 12.4 percent.

For vaccines, 4,493 doses were administered in the past 24 hours, for a total of 20,348,769 doses administered in Quebec.
