Evacuations on Davie Street as crews respond to natural gas call

Emergency services respond to a “natural gas call” that forced several people to leave their homes in Vancouver’s West End neighborhood.

The Vancouver fire and rescue services said they dispatched firefighters and a hazardous materials team to the streets of Davie and Jervis on Monday afternoon.

In a Twitter post, firefighters urged the public to “consider using another street”.

Few other details have been confirmed, but residents of a mid-rise tower on Davie were asked to wait outside while the crew responded to the incident.
