Highway 416: southbound lanes closed after milk truck crash

A tractor-trailer loaded with milk overturned on Highway 416, causing significant delays to drivers.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway at Roger Stevens Drive

A driver was checked at the scene and taken to hospital with minor injuries, Ottawa paramedics said.

The Ottawa Fire Department says crews worked to catch the spilled milk and some fuel that leaked. The crew moved the truck to help clear the stalled traffic before OPP closed the road for investigation and clearance.

It is not clear when the highway will reopen.
