Internet Welcomes Ferret’s Adorable Surprised Face: ‘Happy Noodle’

An adorable ferret has wowed the internet with his puzzled expression in a viral video this week.

Originally shared on TikTok by themodernferret in 2020, the video gained new attention on Reddit this week when it was re-shared and received more than 55,000 upvotes.

In the video, the ferret runs down the stairs and is followed by an array of colorful toys, to which he has a hilarious shocked response.

The ferret in the video is deaf, a common occurrence in white-headed ferrets, according to the website All About Ferrets.

Delighted by the video, viewers on both TikTok and Reddit rushed to share their thoughts.

One TikTok user wrote: “He looks so happy and surprised,” while another joked, “This is so sweet. Such happy noodles.”

“I don’t know if he’s happy or fighting for his life,” another viewer joked on Reddit. Another commenter said: “This might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”

“He is absolutely shocked,” said another viewer of the popular video.

Members of the weasel family, ferrets are a popular pet, but ferret ownership is completely banned in California, District of Columbia, and Hawaii, and there are certain rules and regulations in other parts of the US as well.

There are a number of reasons ferrets are banned by law in some areas, including concerns about aggression and biting, as well as the threat of colonization if they escape from their homes.

Ferrets often have a bad reputation thanks to reports of aggression and high maintenance needs, but the quiet, curious and intelligent animals are also known for being affectionate companions – perfect for people who can give them the time and care they need.

The adorable (and now viral) video was shared by The Modern Ferret’s TikTok account. Starting out as an Instagram account over five years ago and growing into one of the largest ferret owner communities in the world, The Modern Ferret is working hard to educate the public on the joys of keeping ferrets as pets.

In addition to sharing videos, photos, and knowledge with their online community, the team also creates an annual best-selling ferret calendar and visits schools to educate children about proper pet ownership.

“So healthy,” said another person on the Reddit post. While another commenter said, “This is my favorite video on the web right now.”

“Cuteness overload,” said another comment, “made me my biggest, most ridiculous smile.”
