WASHINGTON (AP) — The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurgency on Wednesday issued a subpoena to former White House attorney Pat Cipollone, who previous witnesses have testified to attending meetings where attorneys discussed strategies to undo the election loss of former President Donald Trump.
The commission said it needed Cipollone’s testimony after obtaining other evidence that he was “in a unique position to testify”.
The subpoena came a day after former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson provided new details about Trump’s behavior on Jan. 6, 2021, when thousands of his supporters marched to the Capitol and broke inside to testify his loss to President Joe Biden.
