Johnny Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez has been dubbed “wonder woman” because she came to the rescue of a man when he experienced a medical emergency aboard a flight she was on, according to a report.
Vasquez, who had just come off her career-winning courtroom victory in Depp’s packed defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, was traveling from Los Angeles to New York City this week on an American Airlines flight when a fellow passenger collapsed and hit his head, TMZ reported, citing eyewitness accounts.
The unnamed traveler, who appeared to be in his seventies, fell as he passed Vasquez and her bodyguard, who were flying first class.
When a flight attendant called for help, the famous lawyer and her security guard reportedly sprang into action.
Passengers said Vasquez called her brother-in-law, who is a doctor, and had him accompany her to check if the patient was having a heart attack or brain haemorrhage, the outlet reported.
Vasquez’s bodyguard even took off his Apple Watch and placed it on the sick passenger to check his vital signs, TMZ said.
Vasquez was soon relieved of EMT duties by a surgeon who happened to be aboard the flight — who took over the life-saving measures.
According to TMZ, one of the cabin crew members told Vasquez she was a “wonder woman” and offered her a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Merlot for her troubles.
The pilot then turned the plane over and returned to LAX, where it was met by paramedics escorting the patient off the flight. It is unclear what caused the man to collapse and his condition is unknown at this time.
The incident is sure to take the status of the newly minted law partner to new heights.
The civil lawsuit against Depp-Heard, which ended with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star receiving more than $10 million in damages for tarnishing his reputation, has earned Vasquez legions of fans around the world.
