Roma manager Jose Mourinho is reported to be planning a £25million chase for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the summer transfer window. Wan-Bissaka has been made available to all interested parties as Erik ten Hag begins his own Old Trafford reconstruction.
Mourinho led the Italians to their first-ever European trophy in his first campaign at the helm and, following on from that success, is looking to bring in Wan-Bissaka to compete for Rick Karsdorp. An update on Wan-Bissaka was first reported by Manchester Evening News after Ten Hag had made a decision about Diogo Dalot and his future.
Incidentally, it was former United manager Mourinho who signed Dalot in 2018 before his hotseat successor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, picked up Wan-Bissaka for nearly £50million. Roma and Mourinho’s interest in the one-time Crystal Palace player was reported by Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.

Wan-Bissaka started last season as a first-choice right-back under Solskjaer before former interim manager Ralf Rangnick opted to give Dalot more playing time as the season progressed. Palace was also set to follow suit, amid suggestions that Wan-Bissaka could be sold for around £25million.
He has two years left on his Old Trafford contract.
Elsewhere, the club remain firm favorites to sign Benfica sensation Darwin Nunez this summer – despite several other Premier League clubs in the market for his services. Nunez, 22, scored 34 league goals from 41 appearances last season.
A fee of around £80 million has been suggested as Benfica has a 20 per cent resale clause. Nunez is letting Tottenham and Saudi-backed Newcastle keep an eye on his situation and the Uruguayan himself has previously suggested he would rather move to a club that has secured Champions League qualification.
However, the latest news from transfer expert Rudi Galetti suggests Old Trafford could be his destination of choice. Ten Hag and United want to draw a versatile attack option this summer.
