July 4th Celebrations at Grand Park in Downtown LA and AmericaFest at Rose Bowl Stadium

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Grand Park’s July 4 Block Party returns to downtown Los Angeles on Monday after being canceled for the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

More than 30,000 people are expected for the free 5 1/2-hour event, which includes a 15-minute fireworks display. The gates will open at 4pm for the party described by the organizers as being ‘family oriented’.

The party will include musical performances featuring the global and diverse sounds of Los Angeles, DJ sets and spoken word recitals on two stages.

The fireworks will launch from the roof of The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at 9 p.m., accompanied by a playlist from Rani de Leon, the director of the performing arts at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.

Participants are welcome to bring their own food or purchase items from gourmet food trucks, including tacos, barbecue, and burgers. Vegan options will also be available. Alcohol is not allowed and will not be sold in Grand Park.

Parking for $9 is available at The Music Center and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Due to the large number of expected people, taking public transport is strongly encouraged.

What’s billed as the longest-running Independence Day fireworks display in California is held at the Rose Bowl, during the 96th annual AmericaFest Celebration. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the celebration kicks off at 6:30 PM with a 30-minute performance by the TNT motocross riders.

At 7.30 pm and 7.30 pm there will be performances by pop singer Haylee Joe and versatile singer Tia Simone. the show starts at 9 p.m.

The Rose Bowl parking lots open at 1:00 PM and the Fun Zone at 2:00 PM

General admission tickets are $20, while reserved seats are $40. Children 5 years and under have free access to the general admission area and children 2 years and under access the reserved access area. General admission parking is $45 in advance and $55 on Mondays. Preferred parking is $60 in advance and $70 on Mondays.

Marina del Rey’s 20-minute fireworks show begins at 9:00 PM, synchronized to music played over speakers in Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village.

Fireworks shows are also scheduled at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, and the Hollywood Bowl. Fireworks will also follow the Los Angeles Dodgers-Colorado Rockies game at Dodger Stadium and the Los Angeles Galaxy-CF Montral Major League Soccer game at Dignity Health Sports Park.
