Napoli will have to reconsider their decision if Manchester United make an offer for Kim Min-Jae.
The Peoples Person recently reported on the club’s interest in the centre-back, which has sparked interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.
He has a release clause that can be activated if an offer of around €45 million comes in.
However, this cannot be exercised in the winter transfer window, with interested clubs having to wait until next summer.
In a new Sport Witness article, if an offer comes in from Man United, Napoli will have to reconsider their stance on a potential outbound.
The centre-back arrived at the Italian club as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly who recently left for Premier League club Chelsea.
The outlet reports that sporting director Giuseppe Cannella, who has experience changing the mindset of some lower-tier clubs in Italy, claims it would be difficult for the club to turn down an offer from United.
The director spoke about how difficult it would be for Napoli to say no to a club with United’s prestige.
“Manchester United on Kim? Napoli should immediately think about it,” says Area Napoli.
“If they come for Kim, you have to have another like him. Because if you make a capital gain of about 30 million in 6/7 months, you have to ask yourself?”
“If you have serious scouting and an excellent sports director, then you should already know that if an offer comes for Kim, you have to have the replacement ready.”
Kim was an instant hit for Napoli fans after stunning performances in the league and in European competitions.
He has scored two goals in eight games in all competitions so far this season.
Despite only joining the club in the summer, he has already been linked with a move to England.
It is believed that the breakout clause, which the outlet says is at €50 million, is why clubs are becoming alert to his performance.
