LEGOLAND Discovery Center Celebrates Emergency Services With New Themed Activities

This biannual month of May, LEGOLAND Discovery Centers in Manchester and Birmingham are celebrating the legendary work of the UK’s emergency response teams with a number of exciting activities and a discounted entry price of just £9.99* for Blue Light Card holders.

The offer price was created in tribute to the UK’s most famous phone number, 999, which naturally connects people in need directly to emergency services.

From May 21 to June 5, LEGO enthusiasts can enjoy themed challenges throughout the attraction in honor of the emergency services, such as a hero building competition, where visitors are challenged to build an emergency service related building with winners announced throughout the day!

The building doesn’t stop there, as builders will put their skills to the test by crafting an emergency vehicle which they then whiz down a zip line! Teams at the attraction will also encourage visitors to build a rainbow and add it to a thank you table to create a giant picture of the city’s appreciation for emergency services.

And that’s not all… visitors have to report for duty and go on a scavenger hunt in MINILAND, as mini-heroes are scattered throughout the mini-LEGO cities and need to be rescued.

Big heroes will also be on site as the LEGO hero mascots will accompany guests throughout the attraction for a pop-up dance party and the little ones will be able to meet and greet the hero characters from LEGO City themselves!

Both LEGOLAND Discovery Centers 4D cinemas will also be showing a short LEGO city film – An Officer in Pursuit – in honor of the week-long event.

Amy Langham General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Birmingham said: “We are really looking forward to inviting all our visitors to enjoy and participate in celebrating our frontline heroes. Our Model Citizens (team) have worked hard to create an environment where children and adults can experience the values that the emergency services, also known as LEGO legends, represent while creating fun memories.”

While this event is open to all to thank the great work of the emergency services, Blue Light Card holders and their immediate families have access to the center all week for just £9.99 – ticket prices usually start at the standard price of £21 .95 per adult in Manchester and £22.95 per adult in Birmingham.
