Man fatally shot during altercation in Manhattan’s East Village

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) — A man was fatally shot Friday morning in the East Village after arguing with another man on a bicycle.

It happened just after 9:00 am on East 4th Street between Avenue B and C

A 42-year-old man was shot in the stomach and leg.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he later died.

It appears that an argument between two men led to the shooting.

Police say they are looking for a dreadlocked man dressed all in black who fled east on a bicycle on East 4th Street.

The victim was arrested earlier in January, just one door away from where he was fatally shot.

He was charged with punching a 23-year-old woman in the face at her East Village home.
