A man has been fined almost £400 in court for a £7.80 train journey in the south east.
Nittaya Thomas paid his fare for a journey between Erith and London Bridge on October 27, 2021, but went beyond the distance paid without paying the additional fare.
The verdict was proven during the 21-year-old’s absence from Bexley Magistrates’ Court on 11 May 2022.
Thomas, of Mowlem Street, was ordered to pay a fine of £220, damages of £7.80, a surcharge of £34 and costs of £135 for the offence.
The total of £396.80 must be paid by 8 June 2022.
