Manchester United consider moving for Tottenham goal as central defender

Manchester United are looking at the possibility of making an offer to Inter for Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea target Alessandro Bastoni.

Bastoni’s future at Inter is under scrutiny as the club’s hierarchy is poised to cash in on him in the summer if they get a huge offer.

The centre-back is highly regarded in Europe and had another impressive season in Nerazzurri colours.

Bastoni has admirers in the Premier League, where Antonio Conte’s Tottenham keep a close eye on him and are interested in getting him, while Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel loves him toowhile he wants to fill vacancies in the defence.

Manchester United, led by new boss Erik ten Hag, wants to take over Jurrien Timber from Ajax, but wants to recruit a central defender in addition to him and have Bastoni in their sights.

And according to the Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are mulling over a bid for Bastoni.

Inter will only ratify the sale of the Italy international if they receive at least €60 million for him, while it is hinted that an auction could also be launched for his services, with the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and the Mancunians keen to see him.

Bastoni has no problem staying with Inter after this summer, but it is believed he would like to play in the Premier League.
