Manchester United transfer news RECAP improved Frenkie de Jong’s offer and Steve McClaren’s plans

Everything Eriksen has said about his future

Manchester United are interested in signing Christian Eriksen on a free transfer this summer. Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest at the European Championship last summer and left Inter Milan after that incident.

The player made his comeback to football in January earlier this year when he joined Brentford on a six-month loan spell. After providing one goal and four assists in 11 appearances for Brentford, Eriksen is now available on a free transfer and Thomas Frank’s team are looking to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis but face competition from United for his signature.

The Manchester Evening News understand Erik ten Hag wants Frenkie de Jong and Eriksen to reform United’s midfield this summer, although it is believed the latter could be persuaded to sign for Brentford as his family has settled in London.
