The Met Office has issued a warning for thunderstorms in south London starting tonight.
Yellow warnings are in effect as the Met Office warns that thunderstorms will cause “some flooding and disruption.”
The warning will come into effect from 8 p.m. tonight and will last until 5 a.m. Monday.
The Met Office issues weather alerts when there is a risk that the weather could cause damage, disruption or life-threatening.
It warns of heavy rain, wind, fog, thunderstorms, ice or snow.
Yellow means you need to plan ahead about possible disruption to travel and other daily activities.
Here’s what to expect from the warning:
There is a small chance that homes and businesses will soon be flooded, with damage to some buildings from flooding, lightning or hail.
In the event of flooding or lightning strikes, there is a risk of delays and some interruptions of train and bus services.
Splashes and flash flooding can lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There is a small chance that the power will go out and other services to some homes and businesses will be lost.
