National Night Out events taking place in DMV to promote crime prevention

Communities across the country and the DMV are celebrating National Night Out Tuesday, an event that promotes police-community collaboration and community camaraderie. The event takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August.

The goal of National Night Out is to improve the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement to make neighborhoods safer. The event aims to raise awareness of crime and drug prevention, enhance the neighborhood atmosphere and generate greater support for local anti-crime programs.
