ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) — The regional hospital in northeastern Vermont is breaking new ground to expand options for people with mental health crises.
Hospital leaders say the emergency department is being upgraded and expanded to help care for those in need.
They say the pandemic and economic recession have negatively impacted people and families and increased the prevalence of people going through a mental health crisis.
a greater need for mental health care and a short staffing resulted in long waiting times for care.
