One dead after medical emergency causes traffic accident, OSP investigates

HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) – Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Highland County involving a person who died of medical reasons.

According to OSP Wilmington Post, the Wilmington Highway Patrol Dispatch Center was notified of an accident on Martinsburg Road around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

On arrival, first responders did not find 61-year-old Steven Shelton of Greenfield in the vehicle.

Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene. The Highland County coroner has determined that Shelton died for medical reasons.

The crash is being investigated by OSP Wilmington Post.
