Ontario camp counselor charged with sexual assault

A former Ontario camp counselor, music teacher and personal support worker has been charged in a sexual abuse investigation.

Peel Regional Police say the suspect worked at Camp Kennebec in Arden, Ont. Age 19, dating from 2002. The summer camp specializes in youth, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Campers often referred to the suspect as “Rocker Sean,” police said.

He also worked as an unregistered personal support worker.

In a press release issued Friday, officials said a suspect identified as 47-year-old Mississauga resident Sean Jackson had been charged in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Jackson was first charged in April with possession of child pornography, access to child pornography and making child porn available.

In June, he was further charged with sexual assault, non-compliance with a release order, and four counts of voyeurism.

The allegations have not been proven in court.

Police believe there may be additional victims who have not yet contacted investigators and are calling on anyone with information to contact the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 905-453-2121 ext. 3490 or to reach Peel Crime Stoppers anonymously.
