OC Transpo says partial service on the O-Train Line 1 LRT has been restored.
The O-Train was taken offline due to power outages caused by a severe thunderstorm that swept across Ottawa.
The storm brought heavy rainfall and very strong winds, with gusts of up to 120 km/h at some point in the afternoon.
Renée Amilcar, general manager of transit services, said the O-Train is cutting power across the city, but when the storm broke, more than 100,000 Hydro Ottawa customers lost power because of the storm.
Just after 9 p.m., the connection between Blair and Hurdman stations was restored. Transit drivers going from Hurdman to Tunney’s Pasture take R1 buses.
The OC Transpo website was also taken offline on Saturday.
Amilcar said OC Transpo is working with the city to restore service to the O-Train as soon as possible.
