Fans of virtual reality golf can look forward to more content. Walkabout Mini Golf is being expanded with a VR amusement park.

At first glance it is “just” mini golf. But if you take a closer look at the VR game Walkabout Mini Golf, it’s hard to get rid of it. This is due to the lovingly designed courses with great detail, the excellent ball physics and the incredible satisfaction when you have once again outplayed your colleagues with a hole-in-one on the last course. VR mini golfers can now look forward to new content.

Walkabout Mini Golf: The Labyrinth DLC is here

Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the 15 most successful VR games on Meta Quest 2. Players will not be able to take off their VR headsets once they are on the virtual green, according to the developers. On average, about half of all players spend about two hours at a time on Walkabout Mini Golf. With the new DLC, the playing time could even increase.

New content for Walkabout Mini Golf is all about the 1980s cult movie Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. Pop legend David Bowie and actress Jennifer Connelly captivated audiences in 1986 with a magical fantasy world full of goblins and wild monsters.

Now studio Mighty Coconut is taking the aesthetics of the film to virtual reality on a new course. Each of the eighteen holes is designed to remind you of a scene from the movie. Plus, for the first time, you’ll encounter NPCs based on characters from the movie. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be able to explore the maze from which the game gets its name.

Labyrinth DLC brings the biggest trail in the game yet

According to the developers, the new track will be significantly larger than all previous areas. Again, there are hidden balls to find and a hard mode that sends you on a scavenger hunt at night.

However, the hard mode completely redesigns the track this time and takes you straight to Jareth’s masked ball from the original movie.

With the update, for the first time, up to eight players can simultaneously chase balls across the virtual green. The Labyrinth DLC for Walkabout Mini Golf is available now on the Oculus Store and via SteamVR for about $3.00.
