See an 80s Dallas home updated with a Los Angeles designer’s touch

What do you get when you combine a 1980s home designed by a noted Dallas architect with a recent renovation by a Los Angeles-based design firm? You get this North Dallas home that blends classic design details with modern updates. The house was originally designed by architect Bill Booziotis and built in 1986. In 2017 the house was radically renovated.

The 6022 square meter house has traditional touches such as decorative wood paneling and modern elements such as the clean design of the kitchen (from an Italian brand). Listing agent Ryan Streiff of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate said the sellers’ renovation has kept the home’s original, classic design, but offers more modern room proportions and ceiling heights.

“They took a house with great bones and a timeless ride upstairs and great surroundings and then took the interior to another level with an LA-based design firm,” said Streiff.

The house is on a cul-de-sac in the Williamsburg Estates neighborhood near Preston Road and Spring Valley Road. The property is 1.1 acres and has a salt water pool and outdoor area in the backyard.

The patterned marble floor in the foyer gives a luxurious feeling at the entrance of the house. The foyer has high ceilings and a spiral staircase at one end leads to the second level. A living room is located off the foyer and has an open plan design that transitions into the family room and dining room. This open space has patterned wood floors, paneling along the walls and French doors that let in light and access the outdoor areas. Another living room has a black and white patterned floor, fireplace and French doors leading to the back patio.

The kitchen, with its sleek and modern design, is close to the dining area. The kitchen and adjoining breakfast room both overlook the backyard. Multiple sets of French doors provide access to the back patio for easy indoor-outdoor flow when entertaining. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee bar, Miele appliances and counter top on the island.

The primary suite and two bedrooms are located on the first floor of the house. The primary bedroom is located in its own wing at the front of the house and has ample space for its own sitting area. The black and white design motif continues in the main bathroom with marble accents, a freestanding bathtub, a double shower and two sinks. The other two bedrooms downstairs have their own bathroom and one bedroom can serve as an office.

The house has a utility room, one car garage, utility room and half bathroom on the first floor. Upstairs are two further bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and there is also a living room that can be used as an extra bedroom.

The house at 6210 Raintree Court is listed for $3,249,000.
