TODAY: A quiet morning gives way to an active afternoon and evening in the Miami Valley. Expect partly cloudy skies with increasing showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms can be strong to severe. The best chance of strong to severe storms comes between 2pm and sunset tonight. Any storm that develops today could cause heavy downpours. Storms that become strong to severe can cause damaging wind gusts and hail. There is also a chance of a short tornado. Storm threat aside, it will be hot with peaks in the mid 80’s. Windy with gusts of 25-30 MPH outside thunderstorms.
KEY THREATS: From 2:00 PM to sunset, we could see damaging winds, hailstorms, and an isolated tornado.
THIS EVENING: Another round of rain and thunderstorms may occur during the night. For the most part, these shouldn’t be serious. However, heavy rainfall, lightning and spotty strong gusts remain possible, especially over the western portion of the Miami Valley. Rest in the early morning hours of Sunday. SUNDAY: A few persistent showers on Sunday morning, drying and clearing on Sunday afternoon. It will be a cooler day with temperatures below average in the lower 70s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and mild for Monday with peaks in the upper 60s.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny and mostly dry on Tuesday. A late shower is possible. Highlights rise to the mid to upper 70s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, especially late in the day. Highlights will reach the mid-70s.
THURSDAY: Thursday there are still a few showers and thunderstorms possible, otherwise mostly cloudy. Highlights in the mid 70’s.
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with a chance of a few showers. Highlights in the 70s.
