As the 2021-22 season kicked off, Luka Doncic received several criticisms for coming out of form in the camp. It took him some time to regain his usual fitness and return to his usual level of play. Heading into the new campaign, however, the Dallas Mavericks star isn’t making the same mistake.
On Tuesday, Doncic took the internet by storm with a picture of him looking as skinny as ever. It was a fan photo of the Mavs star in what appears to be a resort, and the young superstar’s body transformation was quite apparent.
Fans and media personalities couldn’t help but notice the huge change, although some laughed at him and suggested his diet may have been a little over the top.

For what it’s worth, it’s not the first time Mavs fans have seen Luka Doncic’s revenge body this off-season, though the latest is the best and clearest shot of his current form. Earlier in the off-season, he caused a stir with his rather muscular and more refined physique when he played for Slovenia in an exhibition against Italy.
Of course, this is only good news for the Mavs. A lean Doncic is exactly what they want, especially after learning the hard way last season that they need their superstar to be as healthy and in perfect shape as possible. The 23-year-old had some injuries last season due to his condition, so hopes are high that he won’t have to experience the same in the 2022-23 season.
Hopefully Doncic can maintain his current form as he gears up for training camp with the Mavs. If he can, then those chances of him becoming the MVP favorite might just be a good choice.
