SWINDON Town have signed former Manchester United left-back Reece Devine to a two-year contract.
The 20-year-old has experience in the Europa League, Europa Conference League and the Scottish Premiership following a recent loan spell at St Johnstone, while the former Wolverhampton Wanderers youth player also enjoyed both Manchester City and Red Devils academy as a teenager .
Devine was loaned to Scotland last season – where he faced Turkish giant Galatasary in Europe – before taking on Swindon in League Two during an eight-game spell at Walsall.
The promising defender follows former teammate Tyrese Shade to the County Groundwith Sol Brynn and Oscar Massey also joining Town as new recruits under Scott Lindsey.
Devine told the club’s media team after signing: “It’s a really good feeling to sign for the club.
“I’ve had some really positive conversations with the new manager and I like the attacking football the team is playing, which suits me a lot – I’m really excited to get started.
“I am an attacking fullback by nature. I like to get out there and hit balls in the box and I have a good bike so I’m looking forward to expressing myself on the pitch.
“Scott (Lindsey) was an integral part of me signing here with his passion and vision, so it made the decision really easy. I’m ready to keep going and I hope I can achieve great things at this club.”
Lindsey added: “Reece is a very capable left sided player who adds a new dimension to the way we want to play.
“His ability to attack and move forward will extend our creative edge, and I am very excited to see how he develops and expresses himself.
Town’s technical director Sandro Di Michele said: “Reece is a high-level young player with experience in the academies of some of the top clubs in the Premier League, and we are delighted to have him on board.
“He also brings some valuable experience in League Two and playing in Scotland which has contributed enormously to his development and I have no doubt that he will have a very positive impact on the pitch.”
