Tanker dump truck in rural west Ottawa

The Ottawa Fire Department has caught a fuel leak after a tanker overturned in rural western Ottawa.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday on Dwyer Hill Road between Purdy and O’Neil Roads. Callers to 911 reported smoke billowing from the vehicle and a leak of gasoline, firefighters said.

The engine was smoking due to overheating and the fire brigade had the guellek under control quickly. The truck did not hit any hydraulic pipes.

The driver was not trapped and did not need to be freed.

The police are on the scene to direct traffic.
