The job up for grabs in Manchester city center with a free apartment

Have you ever wished you could live in the center of Manchester without paying a single cent of rent? Well, this could be your chance.

Manchester City Council are looking for a full-time site manager to take care of a private residential development near St John’s Gardens, a stone’s throw from Deansgate.

The Porchfield Square Site Manager will liaise with visiting contractors and oversee their work, as well as maintaining the gardens and carrying out basic maintenance and repairs. Since the successful applicant must live on the site full-time, they will also be given a newly renovated, rent-free apartment.

According to the vacancy, the role requires a high level of confidence and self-motivation as it is largely unsupervised. The location manager is the first point of contact for residents, so they also need very good interpersonal skills. A positive, helpful and diplomatic attitude is essential.

Applicants must have experience and knowledge of garden maintenance and basic property maintenance is required. Due to the nature of the position, some degree of flexible working hours will be required.

The position holder is part of the development team of the municipality within the growth and development directorate. The team is responsible for managing non-operational real estate assets, including the development of St John’s Gardens.



Residential Development in Porchfield Square

As a permanent base worker, the successful applicant would work from a specific location. This could be because they use specialist equipment or because you are working with the audience from a fixed location. The salary is grade four and ranges from £20,444 to £22,129, bar at £21,695 a year, working 35 hours a week. The contract is full-time and permanent.
