In 2022, the Floriade is scheduled from September 17 to October 16, daily from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The Floriade is a celebration of everything that has to do with food, flowers and gardens. The Floriade is packed with fun activities, including cultural parties, horticultural workshops, live entertainment, market stalls and much more. Best of all, the Floriade is completely free. So not only is it one of the most loved outdoor activities in Canberra, but it is also one of the best free activities offered.

Floriade Nightfest

No spring in Canberra would be complete without a visit to Floriade Nightfest, which will take place from September 29 to October 2 as part of the general Floriade event. Here you will have the chance to discover the dark side of the event and experience a cool array of nighttime activities in Canberra. On September 29 and October 2, enjoy a more peaceful night, complete with relaxing sounds and a glass of wine. On the other hand, the program on September 30 and October 1 is more energetic – perfect if you’re looking for a lively party!

Floriade Nightfest is a ticketed event, with adult and concession tickets for $25 and $15 respectively.

ANUSA’s Friday Night Party

Canberra’s biggest party of the year is back in 2022! Head to Fellows Oval on September 23, 2022 to ring in Canberra spring in style at ANUSA’s Friday Night Party. Here you can enjoy a great lineup of live bands including Skeggs, Confidence Man and Birdz. Plus, plenty of food and other entertainment is on offer. Canberra Nara Candle Festival

Did you know that Canberra has built sister city relationships with three cities in three countries? That’s right – Beijing, China; Nara, Japan; and Wellington, New Zealand are all sister cities to the Australian capital!

On October 29, 2022, the Canberra Nara Candle Festival will celebrate the sister city relationship between Canberra and Nara. During this event, the Canberra Nara Peace Park is covered with candles, creating a perfect backdrop to your evening. Here you can also celebrate all aspects of Japanese culture by participating in traditional crafts, discovering local Japanese businesses, and more. Canberra Moon Festival

A celebration and reunion of Asian cultures, the Canberra Moon Festival shows the city’s position as a multicultural center under the theme “One Community, One World, One Big Family.” Taking place from September 9-11, 2022, it is expected that approximately 30,000 people from the Canberra area will gather to enjoy various activities such as educational programs, exotic and local food and drink stalls, a DJ disco night and much more. Fashion, Food and Wine Market in Canberra

If you have a passion for fashion, you may like the Fashion, Food and Wine Market in Canberra. Held at The Fitters Workshop in Kingston, this is one of the best indoor activities in Canberra to enjoy in the spring. Although the market is open in several places throughout the year, the next session will take place on September 18, 2022, a perfect opportunity to brighten up your spring wardrobe.

One of the most action-packed events is undoubtedly the Australia vs England T20I cricket match at Manuka Oval. From 12-14 October 2022, Australia will face the British to defend their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title. If you’re eager to enjoy Canberra’s springtime on the water, why not drive your own boat with a group of friends? Rent a boat with GoBoat and head to Lake Burley Griffin to enjoy incredible views of the city from a new perspective. You can even bring some snacks or a full picnic to enjoy on the water. GoBoats can accommodate up to eight people and can be rented for up to three hours. While this is a slightly more expensive way to enjoy Canberra in the spring, it becomes much more affordable if you split the cost as a group.
