Canada’s largest halal barbecue and food truck festival, Halal Ribfest, is taking place in Toronto for the first time this month.
International barbecue restaurants, food trucks, chefs and grill masters from all over GTA come together to serve the best halal food the city has to offer.
The festival only serves 100 percent halal meat from certified suppliers and features dishes from South Asian, African and Middle Eastern cuisines.
Halal Ribfest takes place on Downview Park’s Festival Terrace, just a few minutes north of Yorkdale Mall. The 3.6-acre field can accommodate up to 40,000 people, so expect a full and hungry crowd.
The festival also features a Super Car show, where you’ll have the chance to stroll through a range of Toronto’s most exotic cars, motorcycles and classics.
Tickets range from $10 to $12, depending on the date of visit, and can be purchased online.
Halal Ribfest will take place August 26-28 at Downsview Park. The event will take place on Friday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
