Toronto police investigating vandalism of North York school

An investigation is underway after the St. Augustine Catholic School in west Toronto was severely vandalized over the weekend.

A spokesman for the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) said the vandalism at the North York school was “quite extensive”. There were reports of broken windows, spilled paint and scattered books.

Despite the severity of the damage, the school will remain open on Tuesday, the TCDSB said.

“We will close the second floor, where there are many classrooms, so that it can be cleaned up properly. We will just have limited classroom space,” TCDSB spokesman Shazia Vlahos told the Star.
