Toronto police looking for witnesses after man dies in solo Vespa crash

A man in his thirties was driving east on a Vespa when it appeared to lose control and crashed, police said.

Officers were called to Locksley Avenue and Roselawn Avenue in the west of the city around 10:15 p.m. Friday, police said.

“Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene,” Const said. Laura Brabant told CBC News.

The Traffic Services Department is handling the investigation, she added.

Anyone who has seen someone driving a “Vespa-type motor vehicle” in the area around that time is encouraged to contact detectives.

Police are also asking people with potentially relevant video surveillance to come forward.
