Vancouver news: Cool person finds rat enjoying ice cream

Lots of unusual things happen here.

Do you consider ice cream a “game changer” on a hot day?

Whether you’re a popsicle aficionado, a gelato connoisseur, or an iced latte aficionado, a cold treat on a hot day can leave you feeling instantly refreshed and elated… even if you’re a hasty little critter.

Self-proclaimed “cool person” Josh Loewen saw a hot rodent enjoying a tossed-up ice cream cone Friday (July 29) while in the Gastown neighborhood.

The Vancouverite snapped a few photos of the rat as he turned his little frame to lick the remains of the frozen snack from the plastic container.

On Twitter, the local man wrote with the caption: “May we all be blessed with the luck of this rat finding ice cream on a hot summer’s day.”

Loewan told Vancouver is amazing that he saw the happy rodent going “definitely to town” on the treat outside the Woodward’s building in Gastown while on his way to work.

“I got close to it and it didn’t move at all,” he said.

“His fur was completely covered; it was hilarious.”

Loewan also created a hilarious interpretation of a Metro Vancouver map that went viral on social media. It makes the region look like a bizarre creature and people had a lot to say about the creative view.
