VIEW Conference 2022 has revealed more exciting speakers, most of whom have been confirmed in person, for the upcoming 23rd edition of Italy’s premiere conference on animation, VFX, games and computer graphics, taking place October 16-21 in Turin, Italy. More speakers will be announced soon.
Here are some of the recently announced speakers coming to Turin in October:
Ramsey Naito: Naito, president of Paramount Pictures Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, oversees animation content across all formats and platforms, including linear, digital, TV movies, theatrical films and SVOD. She has been behind hit Nickelodeon projects such as: Star Trek: Prodigy, PAW Patrol: The Movieand the expansion of the Spongebob Squarepants universe, as well as the upcoming Paramount theatrical releases of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhemproduced by Seth Rogen and Point Gray Pictures, and The Tiger’s Apprentice directed by Raman Hui. Naito also produced the Academy Award nominee The boss baby.
Kristine Belson: President of Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versethe Academy Award nominee The Mitchells vs. The Machinesand the popular one Hotel Transylvania franchisee. In her presentation, Belson will look back at some of the studio’s most impactful creative breakthroughs, share her thoughts on what sets Sony Pictures Animation apart, and look at what the studio has in store for both feature films and series.
Nora Twomey: Cartoon Saloon co-founder and producer of Wolfwalkerswill present the studio’s new animated film for Netflix, My father’s dragon. The director of the Oscar nominee The Money makerTwomey, received the VIEW Conference Visionary Award in 2018.
Chris Willems: The Oscar-winning director of Great Hero 6 and Bolt and co-director of moana will discuss his latest movie project, the Netflix Animation feature the sea beastaccompanied by producer Jed Schlager and other team members.
Shannon Tindle: The creator/executive producer/writer will present the epic adventure series with Oscar-winning director Peter Ramsey “Lost Ollie, based on William Joyce’s critically acclaimed children’s book “Ollie’s Odyssey,” premiering August 24 on Netflix.
VIEW Conference Masterclass presenters:
Georgina Hayns: The dolls creative supervisor on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchiothe new stop-motion animated film based on the classic children’s novel by Carlo Collodi, directed by del Toro and Mark Gustafson.
Mark Hewis- Hewis, head of the Aardman Academy, will conduct a workshop titled “The Art of Stop Motion Production”.
Simon Verstraete: Technical artist and games guru Simon Verstraete leads a cutting-edge workshop on procedural concepts using SideFX Houdini and Unreal Engine 5.
Scott Eaton: The digital artist will explore the interface between art and technology, sharing his mind-blowing take on today’s state-of-the-art AI and its extraordinary capabilities for artists everywhere.
This year’s VIEW conference has a special track dedicated to the Metaverse, which brings together some of the leading thinkers in this rapidly changing field and is led by mark smallvice president and general manager of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine.
Julien Fournie and Jean-Paul Cauvin: CEO and COO of Haute Couture respectively, discussing the Metaverse, their innovative work with PUBG Studios, and presenting their vision of how art can be combined in the Metaverse.
Risto Jankkila and Sharman Jagadeesan: The duo’s presentation will look at the award-winning roguelike sci-fi shooter game Return Developed by Housemarque for Sony Playstation 5.
Guido Quaronic: Adobe senior director of engineering, 3D and immersive, will speak.
VIEW Conference 2022 will also include a recruiting fair that offers students and professionals from schools and studios the opportunity to pitch their talents to major game and film studios, showcase their roles and meet their mentors.
