Warm, humid, sometimes still humid until Sunday | WDVM25 & DCW50

Because we lose our heating during the day once the sun goes down, we also lose those showers and storms for tonight. Expect a lot of clouds and some fog areas by Sunday morning.

Now that the pesky, persistent layer has finally kicked off here, we should gradually get some sunshine again tomorrow. Temperatures will rise into the 80s when the clouds are gone, and it will still be much humid. We’re going to look for a powerful cold front in our west, but this feature won’t be there yet. Still, with the warm and humid conditions, there should be enough leftover energy to trigger some scattered afternoon storms. The cold front will arrive on Monday and the line-up is starting to look even more favorable for some active weather. The combination of the front arriving in the afternoon and a lot of heat and moisture is likely to create a line of strong to severe storms that will cross into the evening. The main concerns to watch out for are damaging wind and hail.

Once this line of storms is over, high pressure is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. We get some sunshine and much more comfortable conditions as the humidity drops for a while. However, this humidity will rise again on Thursday, as a warm front approaches from the south. Isolated showers and storms are likely to develop along this border lasting through Thursday night. After this, we are on the warm side of another stronger system developing over the Midwest. The chance of rain seems minimal at the moment, but the heat and humidity will rise and we should be in our 80s by Friday and Saturday next week.

Watch out for those raindrops and have a nice rest of the weekend!
