Wave House Bondi With ‘Curves In The Right Places’ Has $7 Million Price Guide For May 26 Auction

This brand new North Bondi pad — nicknamed Wave House Bondi on social media — has curves in all the right places and will be slated for the upcoming auction.

A passion project with a Palm Springs aesthetic, this brand new North Bondi pad combines vacation vibes with the practicality of a grand family home.

What was once a run-down cottage has recently been replaced by a 21st-century five-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 18 Murriverie Rd, exuding the form and function expected in today’s eastern suburbs.

Michael Dovey, general partner at IAG Firemark Ventures, and his wife Lauren Dovey, who founded the health and wellness brand Heat Healer, bought the property in 2017 for $3.03 million, according to the data.

The couple then began turning the address into an Instagram-worthy project that featured all the ingredients of a modern Bondi Beach home, from the crisp white palette to the copper and wood accents.

Nicknamed Wave House Bondi on social media thanks to its wave-like facade feature, the house has been described as “all about dreamy and minimalist interiors, natural light and curves in all the right places”.

Listing agent Warren Ginsberg of Ray White Double Bay, who has a $7 million guide for a May 26 auction, said the Murriverie Rd location was one of the hottest spots for Bondi buyers seeking space and solitude from the crowds while they were still on the beach.

“I sold a house last year on the same street, number 99, and it was so sought after it went for a record price of $11.235 million,” he said.

Number 18 recently won a national design award with the Building Designers Association of Australia.

“Everything in this home has been thought out so carefully and it has such high quality finishes, such as beautiful resort style bathrooms and a beautiful kitchen.”

Some of the designer finishes include Patricia Urquiola tiles, European oak floors and French Honore pendant lights.

On the ground floor, the footprint has multiple zones for everyday living, while still embracing a free-flowing layout from the front door to the covered terrace.

At the heart of the home is a designer kitchen with a large island sofa, sleek terrazzo surfaces, accent faucets, Miele appliances and the convenience of a walk-in closet leading to the laundry room.

The combined kitchen and dining area transitions effortlessly into an outdoor area with integrated BBQ and custom cabinetry.

Behind the terrace is a salt water pool next to the tropical north facing gardens and a built in seating area to complete the coastal character.

The lower floor also houses a dining area, lounge area, study area, wine cellar, media room, fifth bedroom and full bathroom.

Upstairs, and four more bedrooms and another retreat, means everyone in the family has their own space.

The palatial main house has a private balcony overlooking the garden, a glamorous dressing room with wardrobe and make-up area, an enormous bathroom with double showers and washbasins and a free-standing bath.

Each of the remaining bedrooms has large windows, built-ins and share a bathroom.

There is street parking for two cars.

The location of Murriverie Rd is ideally located within walking distance of the eateries of North Bondi, Bondi Beach itself and Rose Bay Secondary College.
