When hairdresser Tracey Hewitt decided to start her journey to healthier hair, she had no idea how much fun it would bring. The mother-of-one topped the scales with a whopping 23 stones and 10 pounds at her heaviest, but vowed to lose the weight for her daughter and late mother.
Over the course of four years, Tracey dropped more than 12 bricks.
But how did she do it?
“I came home from work and fell asleep right away,” recalls Tracey.
“I was just so tired all the time.”
And her weight caused concern to her doctors, and they advised Tracey that she should lose at least 10 pounds.

“It was my portion sizes that were the biggest problem,” explains Tracey.
“I’ve never had a sweet tooth, but I piled my dinner on my plate.”
Tracey’s mother also noticed that her weight was impacting her life and her ability to raise her child, and convinced her to take weight loss seriously.
Sadly, three weeks later, she died suddenly, leaving Tracey devastated but also motivated.
“I thought about giving up,” Tracey admitted.
“But I knew I had to make myself healthy for both my daughter and my mother.”
Over the next four years, Tracey dropped more than 12 bricks, going from size 28 to size 12.
And it’s all thanks to a fitness class with a bit of a twist.
Clubbercise classes mimic a night out but have amazing health benefits for people.
The class is a cardio workout to a soundtrack of club songs, from 90s classics to the latest hits.
The easy-to-follow routines are a fusion of dance, toning, and combat with high and low impact options for all fitness levels, and just an hour-long class burns about 600 calories.

“When I first started I couldn’t even lift my feet properly – I went alone and just stood in the back,” replaced Tracye.
“The coach, Alicia, was so nice to me, she put me on a nutrition course and helped me gain confidence.
“I’m so much stronger mentally and physically now, I stay behind all the time for extra classes!”
