Will Smith said he anticipated his latest life change that his career would be “destroyed” before the smacking Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
During a candid conversation with David Letterman about the former late-night host’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” — which was taped months before the viral hit — Smith recalled a premonition of the kind he was experiencing. while under what he claims was the effects of ayahuasca – a psychoactive herbal drink that is said to have some hallucinogenic properties.
“Once you drink it, you start to see yourself in a way you’ve never seen yourself before,” Smith explained to Letterman, adding, “One of the experiences was the most hellish psychological experience of my life.”
Smith said he had a vision that his palatial home, wealth and unparalleled career would be taken from him over a two-year period during which he explained that he had taken the psychedelic drug nearly 15 times.

“I was drinking, and it usually takes about 45 minutes to start. And I sit there, and you always feel like, ‘Maybe it won’t start this time.’ So I drink and sit there and then all of a sudden it’s like watching all my money fly away, and my house flies away and my career takes off,” the “King Richard” star recalled of the out-of-body moment.
The “Bad Boys” actor went on to explain that while he was tripping off the hallucinogen, he immediately began reaching for his cash, seeing it floating away as if in thin air, and recalled thinking to himself, ” My whole life is being destroyed.”

“This is my fear in real life, and I’m in there, and I want to throw up and stuff, and I hear a voice say, ‘This is what it is. This is what life is,'” lamented the 53-year-old Smith v Letterman.
Finally, Smith said he came to when he heard his daughter, Willow Smith, cry out for his help and realized that in the end nothing can ever take away his true blessings—his family.
“Then I slowly stopped caring about my money. I just wanted to go to Willow. I stopped worrying about my house. I stopped worrying about my career,” he added.
“When I came out, I realized that whatever happens in my life, I can handle it,” the actor continued. “I can handle any person I lose. I can handle anything that goes wrong in my life. I can handle anything in my marriage. I can handle anything this life has to offer.”

Smith was banned from attending Academy Award events for the next ten years after the hit on the podium. The punishment came after the actor resigned from the academy.
For the dismissal and sentence, Smith publicly apologized to Rock via Instagram.
“Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive,” Smith wrote in part on Instagram. “I was out of line and I was wrong.
“I am ashamed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

“My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was unacceptable and unforgivable. Jokes at my expense are part of it, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too heavy for me and I reacted emotionally.”
