Here are the latest traffic updates affecting your commute on Friday, June 24.
On the road
Drivers can expect lane closures on I-495 in Fairfax County due to the 495 NEXT project between Dulles Toll Road and the American Legion Bridge.
As of 5:15 a.m., traffic lights were dark on US-29 and Vint Hill Road. If a traffic light is off, motorists should treat the intersection as if it had four stop signs.
As of 6:10 a.m., the right-turn lane of Suitland Parkway entered before Fifth Sterling Avenue SE was blocked by a disabled vehicle.
As of 6:42 a.m., a lane on western I-66 at Sudley Road was blocked for a work area.
At about 6:52 am, there was a crash on I-95 northbound at VA 294 and Prince William Parkway. No lanes were blocked.
At 6:56 AM, there was a crash on I-66 eastbound following US 29 in Fairfax County. Two eastbound lanes were closed.
At 7:10 a.m., a disabled vehicle was cleared from I-95 northbound two miles north of Route 619.
At 7:13 AM, there was a crash on the Beltway Outer Loop just before the American Legion Bridge. Drivers must proceed with caution.
At 7:13 AM there was a crash on I-695 westbound on M Street SE. The left lane was blocked as a result of the accident.
At 7:26 a.m., the right-hand lane on the Ringway Outer Loop after River Road was blocked due to an accident.
At 7:30 a.m., a disabled vehicle was on I-95 southbound in Fairfax County at mile marker 173.4. No lanes were blocked.
In the subway
At 5:43 AM the Red Line was delayed to Fort Trotten due to a signal problem. By 7:15 am, Metro is said to have resolved the remaining delays.
A lot of sun is expected across the region on Friday. High temperatures reach around 83 degrees. The wind gusts will be light.
